National Honor Society

The National Honor Society, founded in 1921, recognizes students for their academic achievement, service, leadership and character.  Gross Catholic's Archbishop Gerald T. Bergan Chapter has been a chartered member of the National Honor Society since 1971.  Eligible juniors and seniors will be notified in September, and students who desire membership must submit their application and required essay.  Candidates selected by the faculty board for induction will participate in a special ceremony on Wednesday, February 27, 2013 at 9:05 am in the main gym.  Families are welcome to attend.

Gross Catholic NHS Selection Criteria

  • Membership is an honor bestowed upon a student and is based on outstanding scholarship, character, leadership, and service.
  • Minimum 3.5 cumulative grade point average required
  • Attendance at Gross Catholic for at least one semester
  • Good standing with the Dux Esto Program
  • Willingness to maintain good academic standing, participate in NHS activities, and complete service obligations
