Tyrell Galloway takes the state championship at 119 pounds, the only freshmen at the tournament to win a state title! Nick Sears at 152 pounds reached second place, and Skylar Galloway made fourth place at 125 pounds. Good job everyone! Since 1986, the Cougar Wrestling program has finished in Nebraska’s Top Ten every single year with four State Championships in 1993, 1994, 1995 & 1996. The Cougars have produced 22 State Champion wrestlers since 1993. Also, congratulations to the wrestling team for having four of the five wrestlers who went to the 2007 state tourney place in the top six and received medals. Gross Catholic also sponsors a Cougar youth program developing young wrestlers from ages 5-14. |
