Meetings

We organize, plan and execute monthly meetings as well as social and service events throughout the year. The meetings are from 6:00 to 8:00 pm and are usually held on the first Wednesday of every month in room 211. All students are welcome at Marianist LIFE meetings and events.

The Marianist LIFE community has a core group of students who work with the moderators to plan the monthly meetings. Leaders are generally junior and seniors, who are committed to modeling the Marianist charisms, illustrate leadership skills and have a strong desire to grow in their spirituality and share faith with their classmates.

Student Testimonials

"When I started attending Marianist LIFE meetings at Gross Catholic, I honestly started to be more outgoing at school. I got to know my peers better and I was starting to understand what Gross Catholic and the Marianists were all about. I never knew that a school could be a solid community in the way Gross Catholic has been for me. The five characteristics of a Marianist Education weren’t just words, but something we really believe. Especially the “To Educate in Family Spirit.” characteristic."
-Cassie Carney, Class of 2009

"LIFE has changed my life in so many ways. It was one of the first activities that I participated in as a student at Gross. It also is a place where I have got to know more about myself and where I felt I belonged. It truly is a unique group where kids from all over the school can come together and talk about our lives, the world and our faith. It is a place for growth of an individual and a place for anyone who wants a family." -Salvador Robles, Class of 2010

"Marianist LIFE to me is a way for everyone to come together in a safe, open environment and just be themselves. No one is ever ridiculed or shunned for being different. Everyone is welcome. At our meetings, we cast aside everything else in our lives and become one family. That is one of the many things I love about our LIFE community. The sense of family and belonging." -Margaret Black, Class of 2010

" I joined LIFE as a freshman not really knowing what it was all about, and it has been one of the best decisions I have ever made. I have made great friends here especially ones in other grades. It is an environment where you won't be judged and can be open about ....well...life. It would be difficult to find a community as wonderfully unique as the one we have created here at Gross Catholic.” -Mary Kate McCoy, Class of 2011

"Marianist LIFE has been one of the greatest activities I have participated in at Gross Catholic. From the beginning of my freshman year, LIFE has been an open community where everyone is welcome. Each meeting we leave all judgments at the door, and come together as one community. I know I can come to the meeting and talk about my faith in an open setting. I have always felt LIFE is a place I belong and I am able to grow as an individual." -Rachael Lampe, Class of 2010
