Journalism Students Capture 2nd Place in State Journalism Contest (3 years running)
Journalism students will compete in Lincoln in the state journalism championships May 5. Based on the preliminary entries, Gross Catholic took second place and will bring home a state runner-up trophy. The contest ranks students by class and top 12 finishers regardless of school size.
In the preliminary contest the following students earned recognition:

Paw Prints is Gross Catholic’s student-produced newspaper. The Paw Prints staff serves as editors, reporters, and photographers for six issues throughout the year. Paw Prints has been consistently honored by the Nebraska High School Press Association with the Cornhusker Newspaper Award.
In 2000 & 2004, Gross Catholic finished first as Class B State Journalism champions, and in 2003, 2005 and 2006 as runner-up, in the Nebraska High School Press Association Spring Sweepstakes Contest in Journalism.
