Daniel J. Gross Catholic High School is proud of its Strength and Conditioning Program! The weight room is open to all students, staff, parents, and junior high students currently registered to attend Gross Catholic. Free weights, weight stack machines, and cardio equipment are available for use. The goal of the Strength and Conditioning Program is to provide appropriate programming for each student's athletic endeavors or general physical fitness improvement.

Programs are developed in accordance with standards set by the NSCA. Programs are customized for in-season and off-season athletes in accordance with their sport(s). Workload progression is closely monitored for optimum performance gains. Programs are also developed for novices, injured students, and non-school related sports (i.e.: hockey, rugby, horseback riding, etc.). Field testing is administered at the beginning and end of each semester to track progress. The program strives to ensure that every student learns proper form, safety, and weight room practices, program progression, as well as guidance in the areas of nutrition and general heatlh information.

Gross Catholic High School Strength and Conditioning Program Mission Statement: To provide well-designed, safe workout programs for athletes, students and staff who desire optimal performance enhancement for athletic competition or general physical fitness; to advise in the areas of exercise technique and progression, athletic performance enhancement, nutrition, supplementation and body composition based upon the most current scientific research available from the National Strength and Conditioning Association; to individualize workouts in accordance with team goals, personal goals, and/or physical limitations; to provide a positive, safe environment in which every student, athlete, and staff member can pursue physical goals.
