Gross Catholic’s speech team competes in the River Cities Conference. Students study the theory, preparation, and delivery techniques of the forensic categories in oral interpretation, drama, and public speaking. Students compete in tournaments at the Varsity and Novice levels. |

Current NewsThe Gross Catholic Speech Team wrapped up the 2009-2010 season, its strongest under Coach Brian Fuchser, with districts on March 3 at Skutt Catholic and state on March 17 in Kearney. The team earned 11 medals at the District Speech Meet and two Cougar speakers qualified for state. Anna Shymanski placed second in Informative at districts, and just missed breaking into finals at the State Speech Meet, finishing seventh overall. Becky Rasmussen finished second in Poetry at districts, and thirteenth overall at state. Please see the Speech Team page on the school’s website for additional results.
